Draft — not yet reviewed
This page is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by an attorney, and it is not a binding agreement or a final policy. It is published so that the draft can be read and corrected before launch. If something here matters to a decision you are about to make, ask me directly rather than rely on this text.
What the site aims for
The target is WCAG 2.2 level AA: readable contrast, keyboard access to every link and control, heading order that a screen reader can follow, and text that reflows on a phone without sideways scrolling.
What is built in
- No JavaScript is required to read an article.
- Tables are wrapped so a narrow screen scrolls the table, not the page.
- Images carry descriptions; a decorative image is marked as decorative.
- Body text is set at a size that does not need zoom on a phone.
- Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard and shows focus.
What is known to be weak
- Some long data tables are dense on a phone, even when they scroll correctly.
- The workbooks are PDFs. They are fillable and structured, but a PDF is harder to reflow than a web page, and the worksheet lines assume a printed page.
- Video and audio do not exist yet; when they do, captions and transcripts ship with them, not after.
If something blocks you
Email pscaffo@nurseroot.com and describe the page and what happened. I would rather send you the content in another form, and fix the page, than have you work around it.
